A Few Reviews:
Now you see, this is what contemporary fiction strives for: A statement about the impermanence of our lives; the bits of ephemera that we collect along the way; the totems of a happy childhood preserved not in amber but with glue that'll eventually dry out and ink that'll fade and turn a different colour over the years.
In post-9/11 environment of sudden loss and smelling-the-roses sentimentality the idea of a scrapbook is simply inspired: Empowering because the collector appropriates the culture for themselves, writes their own version of how it all came to be, in our hyperventilating age of internet and 500 television channels, this lovely, grand scrapbook is a beautiful reality check (the prompting questions are terrific) and a touching reminder of how quickly it's all over.
There have been other scrapbooks, of course, and some just as fancy ('My Christmas Album' by Richard and Candince Elton; Cabbs Smith: 2002) but Lara Shecter's is one of the few from recent memory that's worthy of heirloom quality memories. It's a lovely piece of work.

Let your child learn the significance of documentation and reminiscences with this inventive scrapbook. The author has compiled audacious colors and fanciful designs to help aid children in making their moments last. Children can document important events and pictures from preschool through 7th grade with Lara's sturdy scrapbook. Children could even continue by adding onto the book with their own creations for beyond 7th grade.
There are designated folders to hold report cards and other important documents, going beyond 'normal' scrapbooking. Lara Shecter's Now and Then Scrapbook is an innovative and bright concept for all grade school children. Recommended for personal use--not suitable for a library.
