Believe
Lara Shecter believes strongly in a few things. She believes in the importance
of family, history and storytelling. She believes the magic of childhood shouldn't be forgotten. And, she believes in keeping
things simple, or a simple as you can when you have children.
Lara combined all of these beliefs in the creation of Now and Then. Lara set out to design a book that made
it easy for children to capture the essence of childhood with words and pictures.
She wanted to create a
keepsake that children would carry with them into adulthood to share with future friends and family. She also wanted to make life a little simpler for parents by giving them a special place
to store report cards, drawings, and other irreplaceable documents that accumulate each school year.
There is one more thing Lara believes, and this you may have guessed by now. She believes that dreams are meant to
be spoken, recorded and most importantly, followed.
Lara Shecter lives in Vancouver, Canada, with her husband and 3 young children. Lara sold almost 30,000 copies of her first scrapbook, The Memory Maker.
